Takes stores your data locally on your device. We don't run a server that collects your votes, comments, or username. What you post stays in your browser unless you choose to share it.
All app state is saved in your browser's localStorage under the key takes_state_v1. This includes:
This data never leaves your device. Clearing your browser's site data removes it completely.
Takes is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel may log basic request data (IP addresses, request paths, timestamps) for security and performance purposes. See Vercel's privacy policy for details.
Takes may use Vercel Analytics to measure aggregate traffic (page views, visitor counts). This data is anonymous and not tied to any individual. No cookies are used for analytics.
Photos and videos you attach to a take are scanned locally in your browser using an on-device AI model (NSFWJS). The scan runs entirely on your device — no image data is sent to any server for moderation.
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
